We’re excited to announce that the META High School Esports League Championship Finals will return to the Melbourne Esports Open this year, with Australia’s top High School esports teams competing in 3 epic finals live in Melbourne Arena.

Over 300 teams will represent more than 150 schools in their favourite video games between May and August in the META High School Esports League, with the finalists of each game given the opportunity to play in front of a live audience at the Melbourne Esports Open on September 1. A full schedule for the online league can be found on the META High School Esports website.

At last year’s event, Unley High School (SA) took home first place in the Rocket League finals, with  Rangitoto College (New Zealand) earning first place in League of Legends.

This year’s finals will be played in a Best of 5 format for Rocket League & League of Legends, with the addition of NBA2K, played in 8 minute quarters. Any Sunday ticket to the Melbourne Esports Open will let you watch the META Championship Grand Final live in Melbourne Arena.
